I think it is easy for people to separate the emotions and intimacy thing, and it’s probably for the best. If I had to meet a woman’s parents and even fall in love with her before I kissed her, chances are I’d be emotionally trapped in something that could potentially not be a well thought out plan. We’d not know each other on any other level but emotion and emotion waxes and wanes. If we have nothing else but emotion, the relationship won’t last. I’m old fashioned too, but I want to get to fully know someone (physically, mentally, and personally) before giving 100% of my emotions. I may care about them and hope for their happiness, but I am not falling in love until later.
Thanks for writing Todd.
